MEALS ON WHEELS
Hot nutritious meals are provided 5 days a week for seniors and people with disabilities who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Meals are delivered to your door. Frozen meals are available to supplement weekends. Fee applies
The Transportation service provides rides to medical and social appointments for seniors and adults with disabilities. Transportation to shopping malls, hairdresser and other trips are also available. Fee applies
Humber Community Seniors’ Services is a member of Toronto Ride. Launched in 1998, Toronto Ride is a collaborative partnership of fourteen not-for-profit, community support service agencies that provides door-to-door, assisted transportation to seniors 55+ and adults with disabilities who are not eligible for Wheel-Trans.
The Wellness Centered programs engage seniors and volunteers from various cultural backgrounds in meaningful and enjoyable activities that help develop creative and learning skills in a welcoming group environment to reduce social isolation and to enhance quality of life.
HOME AND PROPERTY MAINTENANCE PROGRAM
Our professional staff will cut your lawn, trim hedges, snow removal and perform minor home repairs, odd jobs and handyman tasks. Fee applies
Assistance is provided with house cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, dusting, washing dishes, cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms, grocery shopping and prescription pick up. Fee applies
ADULT DAY PROGRAM
The Adult Day Program offers services to seniors and adults with physical and cognitively impairments (i.e. Alzheimer). The program allows your loved one to enjoy a friendly and safe environment while providing caregivers some relief from daily responsibilities. We keep participants socially active, and mentally and physically stimulated through therapeutic and recreational activities. Food and transportation are provided. Fee applies
ESCORTED MONTHLY OUTINGS
Once a month outings are planned to local points of interest such as shopping, lunch, theatre, craft shows, etc. All clients are picked and dropped off at our office at a set time. Bus transportation is included. Fee applies
TELEPHONE REASSURANCE/SECURITY CHECK
Friendly telephone calls are made by volunteers as a security check or just to say “hello”. The client and volunteers mutually agree upon a time and frequency of calls.
